Dignity

The United Nations declared the Decade of the Culture of Peace and Non-violence for the children of the world. This is a world not dominated by fear and based on a new form of life where every man and woman can live in dignity

We can contribute to this new form of life.

In a declaration from UNESCO on the contribution of women to a Culture of Peace it is said:

“Only as women and men together in equality and partnership can we overcome the difficulties, silence and desperation and secure the understanding, political will, creative thinking and concrete activities which are necessary for global transition from a culture of violence to a Culture of Peace.”

On 9th April we had an opportunity to present
The Middle East Peace Signature Campaign at the Congress of the Women`s Forum of the Social Democratic Party of Albania.
The Chairwoman of this party`s Women`s Forum is Mrs Zhaneta Harka, Peace Ambassador and a long time friend of WFWP.

At the beginning of the congress with around 220 women present we were introduced as one of the special guests and after first session and a coffee break there was a time for us – using a short power point presentation we explained about WFWP activities  with emphasis on peace activities in Israel and signature campaign encouraging everybody to sign.

The presentation done by our sister Suzana Rexhepi was powerful and convincing and the listeners felt definitely refreshed by such hopeful and meaningful content. Probably everybody present in the hall signed the declaration. However  some people left during the coffee break so we only collected 165 signatures. We hope to reach also to other women’s groups..
